Rooms to Thrive Update — Progress You Can See!

We are delighted to share a progress update on our Rooms to Thrive 4-bed room prototype — and the transformation is well underway!

The old flooring has been removed, the new flooring is nearly fully installed, painting was to be happening this weekend, and new cabinetry will be installed this coming week. Step by step, this space is being completely reimagined!  (Hop over to our Instagram and Facebook accounts to peek at a couple of photos…   You have to make a lot of mess to achieve a “new look”!)

It is remarkable to see the changes already taking shape — and we truly cannot wait to share the AFTER photos with you. You won’t believe the difference!

This prototype room represents more than a renovation. It reflects our commitment to creating shared spaces that better support privacy, dignity, comfort, and quality of life. Thoughtful improvements to layout, finishes, and personal space directly influence how care is experienced — helping Residents feel more secure, respected, and at home.

Exciting as this progress is, we must remember: 14 shared rooms remain.  We cannot stop now.  Our Residents are counting on us to finish what we started.  We warmly invite you to support the next phase of Rooms to Thrive and help us continue this important work for our current and future Residents.

How You Can Help
Donations may be made online through our Donate Rooms to Thrive link to CanadaHelps, where you can use a credit card, PayPal, or Google Pay to make your contribution. You may also choose to establish a recurring monthly gift or donate in memory, or in honour of a loved one who calls The Home, their home.

For those who prefer to give by cheque, donations may be made payable to: The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg and mailed to: 276 Hugo Street North, Winnipeg, MB R3M 2N6.

Donations of any and all amounts are welcomed, but as a reminder the following are the donor levels that will be recognized on our “Giving Tree” which will soon (and may I personally add, FINALLY) be making its debut:
$250–$4,999 — Friends
$5,000–$9,999 — Advocates
$10,000–$49,999 — Leaders
$50,000+ — Visionaries

And please — help us spread the word. The more people who are aware of Rooms to Thrive, the greater the opportunity to welcome new supporters who will help us reach our goal. Sharing our story truly makes a difference.

Thank you for walking alongside us as we count these rooms down together! I know that we can do this for our Residents!

With a grateful heart,

Sherry Heppner
Development Coordinator
