“Nourish for Caregivers” – Program Offered by Interfaith Health Care Association of Manitoba

A new (no cost) virtual program:  “Nourish for Caregivers” is being offered by the Interfaith Health Care Association of Manitoba.  The 1.5 hour sessions are being held once a month on a Monday afternoon (the first was held yesterday, January 17, 2022) and there is still opportunity to register, if you might be interested.  The leader of the program is Julie Turenne-Maynard who is both the Executive Director of the Manitoba Association of Residential and Community Care Homes for the Elderly AND the Executive Director of the Catholic Health Association of Manitoba Interfaith Healthcare Association of Manitoba.  She knows informal and professional caregivers are hurting, and is able to empathize/give good council to all.

I attended yesterday’s inaugural Nourish for Caregivers’ virtual  meeting (together with 17 other family caregivers – strangers, none associated with our Home – but in time, I am sure we will all become virtual friends).  I thoroughly enjoyed and benefitted from the teachings and the large/small group interactions. I hope to continue to participate in the sessions, as my work schedule permits.

For any who might be feeling a bit soul weary (and aren’t we all these days) and in need of some practical uplifting words/reflections, and group interactions in a very safe environment, etc. – I encourage you to give consideration to register/join us.

Thank you for allowing me to share this opportunity to gain a bit of spiritual refreshment!

Warmest regards,

Sherry Heppner
