A huge THANK YOU to all who joined us for our Mother’s Day Tea this past Friday!
We know our space is cozy on the best of days — and when you mix in joyful families, sweet treats, and our beloved Residents, it becomes a recipe for some delightful togetherness. We pulled out extra chairs, squeezed in a little closer, and soaked up every minute of it. If there’s one thing our little Home knows, it’s that happiness doesn’t come from its square footage — it comes from the caring connections of the good folks who occupy the space! 💛
Our lovely tea party even made the CBC evening news! If you missed it, you can catch a quick clip of the festivities here: CBC TV: Mother’s Day Tea (Just an FYI – we assure you that the “wine” mentioned in the video was 100% non-alcoholic! 😉)
We will feature photos from the Tea in our next newsletter, which we aim to have landing in your inboxes in late June.
But before then, please mark your calendars:
📅 Saturday, June 7 – It’s our 4th Annual Jessie Avenue Block Party! We’re crossing fingers (and toes) for sunshine and warm temps.
📅 Friday, June 13 (tentative) – Time to shine the spotlight on the gentlemen in our lives at our Father’s Day Celebration!
More details will be coming soon — stay tuned!
And when you’re next visiting The Home, look for our Rooms to Thrive vision board – it shows off the colors, fabrics, and inspiration behind our project to refresh every Resident’s room. (We are just waiting for our Mother’s Day balloon display to deflate and then the vision board will be up! 😊)
To help keep the momentum of Rooms to Thrive going strong, we invite you to make a financial gift that will have a real and immediate impact — creating rooms that offer comfort, dignity, and a true sense of home for our Residents. Donating ‘online’ is easy and secure – Simply click the following link: CanadaHelps – Rooms to Thrive. You may also donate by cheque made payable to The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg! Your support helps ensure that every Resident will have a space where they can truly thrive!
If you haven’t yet noticed, there’s always something happening at The Home — and we’re so glad you’re part of it!
Warmest regards,
Sherry Heppner
