More vaccine news! & other updates!

We have just been advised that starting this Fall, Manitoba Health has approved one free dose of the RSV vaccine for Residents of personal care homes aged 60 and older.

Please consult the fact sheet for more details. Justin or one of our colleagues will be reaching out to eligible Residents’ contacts to obtain consent, as needed.

Additionally, Manitoba Health has advised that there should be at least two weeks between receiving the RSV vaccine and the influenza vaccine. Given the logistics of administering both the COVID and flu vaccines, we anticipate the RSV vaccine will be given to Residents in early November.

We also share that we will be switching footcare providers. A visiting footcare nurse will be scheduled to attend at our Home at a much-reduced cost. If you’re interested in arranging for your loved one to be seen by a footcare nurse, please connect with Shawna, our Social Worker, for the necessary consent form.

Lastly, we’re in the process of arranging for a dental hygienist to visit our Residents on an ongoing scheduled basis. More information about this service, including pricing and how to book an appointment, will be provided soon.

Warmest regards,
