Friendly Reminders for Families & Friends

As we welcome some new families into our Home, we thought this would be a good opportunity to share two friendly reminders with everyone (both new and familiar faces!) — small things that help our team provide the best possible care and support to all our Residents and families.

☎️ Calling Our Neighbourhoods

Our nursing teams are always happy to connect with families; however, there are certain times of the day when their attention is particularly focused on medications, personal care, meals, and other important Resident needs.

Whenever possible, we kindly ask that non-urgent calls to the neighbourhoods be avoided between:
7:00–10:00 a.m.
3:00–6:00 p.m.

If your matter is urgent, please know that you may absolutely contact the neighbourhood at any time. For non-urgent questions or updates, calling outside of these busier care periods helps our nurses remain focused on the Residents who need them in the moment — and allows them to give you their attention when you do connect.

🚪 Evening Visits & Our Main Entrance

We love seeing families and friends coming through our doors! During the evening hours, however, there may occasionally be a delay in answering the main entrance, as staff may be assisting Residents and unable to step away immediately.

For family members and friends who visit regularly, we strongly encourage you to obtain a swipe card. With earlier sunsets and cooler weather on the way, having a swipe card will become even more helpful, allowing regular visitors to enter The Home quickly without having to wait outside for the door to be answered. And your swipe card is just as handy when it’s time to leave — a simple swipe allows you to be on your way quickly and easily.

These may seem like small things, but both make a meaningful difference in helping our staff keep their attention where it matters most — on the care, comfort, and safety of our Residents.

Thank you, as always, for your understanding, cooperation and for being such an important part of our Home community. We greatly appreciate you!

Warmly,

Sherry Heppner
Development Coordinator
