We are (sadly!) nearing Cold and Flu season, thus we are preparing our Fall vaccine rollout. Starting soon, either I or another member of our team will be calling each Resident’s primary contact to obtain consent and answer any questions you may have.
We are offering the following immunizations this year:
- Season Flu (Fluzone HD)
- Covid-19 (Moderna or Pfizer)
- Pneumococcal (Prevnar 20)
- Respiratory Syncytial Virus (Abrysvo or Arexvy)
Both, covid and Flu vaccines have been updated this year to reflect circulating strains, as is the case every year. The process for these two immunizations remains the same as in years past.
New this year, eligibility for the Prevnar 20 vaccine has been expanded to include individuals in Personal Care Homes who received a pneumococcal vaccine more than five years ago. Be assured that we have access to past vaccine records and will review them carefully to determine your loved one’s eligibility.
Many of our Residents received the RSV vaccine last year, which means they still have protection and do not require another dose. We will only be vaccinating those who are new to The Home, or who have not received it in previous years.
