The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg has a potential COVID-19 outbreak with five Residents on our 3rd floor displaying COVID-like symptoms. Testing is being done to confirm, and if your own loved one is tested at any time you will be notified directly.
Because of the possibility of an outbreak being formally declared – we are suspending all in-person family/friend visits until further notice. We will lift the suspension as soon as it is prudent to do so. Starting Monday, April 18, virtual visits can be arranged by sending an email request to: It could take a few days for us to get the virtual visits up and running – so, your patience is appreciated as we coordinate schedules between Residents and families and friends. We are hopeful that such arrangements will be short-lived.
We have been doing so well over the past many months in protecting our Residents and staff against the virus – but the prevalence of the virus in the community continues to be a constant threat. We commit to doing everything possible to control and stop the spread of the virus. We recognize that receiving this advice is extremely worrisome for you, our Residents, and our staff. Be assured that we have moved quickly and are doing everything possible to contain the situation.
We share your concerns for the wellbeing and safety of your loved one – each Resident is like a family member to us.
