A Small Favour During Meal Delivery Times

We have a small favour to ask of you that would make a big difference for our Dietary team—and ultimately for our Residents.

During our meal delivery windows of 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., we kindly ask that, whenever possible, all visitors use our smaller elevator (located across from the Tea Room near the Recreation Room) rather than the larger elevator by the front entrance and kitchen. (We offer the assurance that we also delivery breakfast to our Residents’ neighborhoods but as the timing is so much earlier in the day, that we don’t encounter elevator traffic congestion.)

The larger elevator is our main route for transporting meal carts to each Resident neighborhood. Our Dietary team works quickly to ensure hot meals stay hot, cold items stay nicely chilled, and every meal arrives as fresh as possible. After all, nobody enjoys cold soup or lukewarm ice cream!

While the smaller elevator is also used to transport Residents to and from the Dining room, it is much easier for our staff to coordinate that traffic than to interrupt meal deliveries using the larger elevator.

You might say that both elevators are carrying precious cargo. One is transporting the Residents who call The Home their home, while the other is carrying meals prepared especially for them. Both deserve to arrive safely, comfortably, and on time. Reserving the larger elevator for meal carts during these brief delivery periods also helps reduce the risk of accidental bumps or burns while hot food is being transported.

These delivery windows are only about 30 minutes each, and your kindness and cooperation are sincerely appreciated. Thank you for helping us provide the very best dining experience possible for our Residents!

With much gratitude,

Sherry Heppner
Development Coordinator
