In the U.S., November is National Family Caregivers month. (Canada designates the month of May as our National Caregiver Month.) To kick-off the month, on November 1, a wonderful U.S. based organization called “Daughterhood” is providing (free) virtual screening access to a new documentary: “Wine, Women, & Dementia”. I have watched the film’s trailer, found myself immediately intrigued and wanted to share the opportunity to also view it with our Home’s families/friends.
The film is about dementia family caregiving – you will laugh and cry, and many will relate to the individuals who are profiled and their stories. Every family, every caregiver, has a story – and we are linked together by those individual stories.
You will need to acquire a (free) ticket to view the film and you can do so at the following link: Get Tickets. (Check out the trailer, also available on the same webpage/link.)
The film is only available to be viewed on the one night of Wednesday, November 1st at 5:30 pm CDT. (The film is 87-minutes in length, followed by a Q&A with the director and cast.)
The documentary’s distributors encourage you to “pour yourself a beverage” and join the hundreds (possibly thousands) of caregivers who will be watching! (Believe me, even if you, as a family caregiver, feel you are alone – YOU ARE NOT! There are thousands/millions of us out there!)
Please feel free to share this advice with your broader circle of family/friends. I also recommend checking out “Daughterhood’s” website – it has some excellent articles/information available. I am often digging around this site for helpful content
