We so regret having to share advice of a respiratory virus outbreak amongst our Residents who live in our 2nd and 4th floor neighborhoods.
The Residents directly impacted are displaying cold-like symptoms (runny nose and cough). As deemed appropriate by our nursing team, we are testing some Residents for specific respiratory viruses. The designated primary contact of those who have either been confirmed as having a respiratory virus or as being tested have been notified. Should, at any time, your loved one be tested, the primary family/friend contact will be informed.
Out of an abundance of caution to try and contain further spread, Residents who live in our 2nd and 4th floor neighborhoods are being kept in their neighborhoods for their meals and recreation activities. In-person visitation is NOT being impacted for any of our Residents. Residents who live in our 2nd and 4th floor neighborhoods are not to be taken off their respective floors until further notice BUT, families/friends may continue to visit with them in their designated neighborhood.
When visiting at The Home, if your loved one is being restricted to remain in their room, please adhere to all personal protection instructions/notices regarding wearing a mask/hand sanitization, etc. For all family/friend visitors, we encourage you to take advantage at every opportunity to sanitize your hands. This is as much for your own protection as it is our Residents. Also, if you are feeling unwell, please stay home and plan your visit for when feeling well again.
As warranted, we will keep you informed of our Residents’ health status. Be assured that the care of our Residents is always our top priority – we will ensure all our Residents’ needs are being met to the absolute best of our ability.
Keep health-safe! We will get through this together – we did it before and we can do it again!
