It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas!

On Tuesday/Wednesday afternoons of this week (December 14 and 15), we will be celebrating the season with a most special Christmas Party for our Residents! We are all so excited and while we do wish you could join us, too – we promise to share plenty of photos from our memories scrapbook of the occasions. (For the month of December our amazing Dietary team will be baking up around 2,000 cookies which I am sure rivals Santa’s Bake Shop! Plus, there will be butter tarts, and love it or hate it – Christmas fruitcake!)

Because families/friends have been inquiring, should you wish to bring some favorite home-baking for your loved one, please do! Kindly ensure to label the container/outer-packaging very well with your loved one’s name and room number (if known) and on your visit to The Home, leave your treats on the bench between our double-doors at our front entrance. Please note that we cannot guarantee your container will make its way back to you – so, do utilize toss-away/recyclable packaging and not a family heirloom.

We also offer a most heart-felt THANK YOU, THANK YOU! to all who have donated to our 2021 Buy a Light/Brighten a Life campaign! Your generosity is most appreciated, and we aim to make 2022 a particularly joyous one, trying extremely hard to put all the sacrifices and hurt of our COVID-plagued years behind us! There is certainly still time to donate to our fundraiser either sending your gift by Canada Post (payee for your cheque is:  The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg) or via CanadaHelps.  (Should you wish to designate your donation to our Health Care Heroes or an alternate purpose at The Home – feel free to provide such direction on your cheque or on the CanadaHelps website – and we will honor your preference.)  Together we can make BIG, BRIGHT & BEAUTIFUL things happen for our Residents/our Home!

Warmest regards,
