Although the extreme crisis of our COVID-19 virus outbreak is behind us at The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg, it remains extremely important for all of us to not let down our guard against the virus – a sneak second attack cannot be allowed to happen! We must remain vigilant in our adherence to all of Manitoba’s Chief Provincial Public Health Officer’s guidance and restrictions, including the requirement to self-monitor daily your own health’s status (and more so on days when you will be attending at The Home either to visit or to work). The simple rule to follow is: If you are feeling unwell – stay home!
Designated Visitors with Scheduled Visits:
Prior to leaving home, please complete a self-check using the following checklist: TCHW Visitor Screening Checklist
If you answer “yes” to any of the questions posed on the Checklist– stay home, notify The Home that you will not be keeping your booked visit, and take action applicable to your “yes” answer.
If you answer “no” to all of the questions, you are most welcome to proceed with your visitation plans in accordance with the guidance shared by The Home’s staff when initially scheduling your visit.
Staff working at The Home:
Prior to leaving home for every shift at The Home, please complete a self-check using the following checklist: TCHW Staff Screening Checklist
If you answer “yes” to any of the questions posed on the Checklist – notify The Home and request further direction on how to proceed.
All visitors and staff are mandated to wear their own mask prior to entering The Home (including our outdoor visitation “Pod”) and to practice stringent hand sanitization at every opportunity. Social distancing must also be adhered to, when visiting or working to the extent possible/established.
2021 will see us raising a toast to successfully having stamped down the COVID-19 virus if we just work together in keeping ourselves and our loved ones safe!
Warmest regards,
